Solution :-

In Windows:

Add the hostname in the /etc/hosts file. If you are specifying the IP address in the config.xml then try with the hostname instead eg. hostname.xxx.com, also specify this in the /etc/hosts file.

In Linux:
 1) Update the hostname value  for root user by using the following command:

HOSTNAME=xyz.abc.com
export $HOSTNAME
hostname
xyz.abc.com

2) After these changes the env variable for root user is modified to the correct hostname value as shown below:

HOSTNAME=xyz.abc.com
SHELL=/bin/bash
TERM=xterm
HISTSIZE=1000
SSH_CLIENT=10.1.2.3 1401 22
SSH_TTY=/dev/pts/2
USER=vinay

OBIEE 11g Error: 500 Internal Server Error

If you are getting the error following error

Error 500--Internal Server Error
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

FMW_SECURITY_SERVICES_URL in NQSConfig.ini has wrong IP. checking log file its noticed that this parameter has invalid IP which caused the problem.so after updating with correct IP address its got working fine so this is permanent solution.

Below screen short shows the FMW_SECURITY_SERVICES_URL in NQSConfig.ini file.

Try to update your static IP address like below screen,

Then try to re - start your bi services then Error: 500 Internal Server Error won't come again.

Editing a report on Criteria tab instead of Results tab in OBIEE

By default when you click on Edit report, your OBIEE Answers opens it on the Results tab. Apply the account settings to navigate directly to the Criteria tab when editing.

  • Go to top right corner of the screen and click on My Account:

  •       In Preferences tab change Analysis Editor setting to Start on Criteria tab when editing Analysis and click OK.
